Qatar now has the world’s longest air-conditioned outdoor track. The park, named Rawdat Al Hamama Public Park, was inaugurated by H.E. Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, Minister of Municipalities. The 1,197-metre-long park has been built with an aim to encourage the public to make jogging and walking a part of life.
The project will benefit the residents of Al-Khisa and nearby areas. The project was implemented by the Public Works Authority (Ashgall) together with the Public Parks Department of the Ministry of Municipalities.
The park can accommodate up to 10,000 visitors per day. Qatar’s largest plant clock, 8 service kiosks, an amphitheater accommodating 500 spectators, separate prayer rooms and bathrooms for men and women are all part of the project.
There are 1,042 trees of 21 local and international species. In addition, an automatic irrigation system with 100% purified water and other modern facilities make the park even more attractive.
