Qatar has completed its preparations to successfully host the Qatar Airways Formula 1 Grand Prix, the 23rd and final round of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship season. The Qatar Grand Prix, which began on Friday, will span three days of under-the-lights racing at the Lusail International Circuit.
Twenty of the world’s best racing drivers, representing 10 Formula 1 teams, will compete in the final showdown at the main race scheduled for Sunday night.
For the second consecutive year and the third time in history, Doha is hosting the Formula 1 World Championship. Qatar first hosted the championship in 2021, stepping in to fill the gap left by Australia due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Qatar has firmly established itself as a major destination for the world’s biggest motorsport event. Starting in 2023, Qatar will remain a permanent fixture on the Formula 1 calendar for 10 consecutive years.
