The Qatar Chess Association (QCA) has announced that Doha will host the fourth edition of the Qatar Masters International Open from December 2 to 12, featuring 300 players, including some of the world’s top grandmasters.
Recognized as one of the premier global chess tournaments, the event boasts a prize purse of $108,000 (approximately ₹89 lakhs). Speaking at a press conference yesterday, the organizers confirmed that all preparations for the tournament have been completed.
QCA President Mohammed Al Mudhahka revealed that players from 25 countries will participate in the tournament, which makes its return after successful editions in 2014, 2015, and 2023.
This year, India will field the largest delegation, with 110 players participating in the event, the president added.
