In the second round of Group 5 qualifiers for the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Finals, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia, Qatar defeated India. The match, held on Friday at the “Nehru” Hall, ended with Qatar winning 69-53.
The results of the four quarters were (17-14, 19-17, 14-8, 19-14) in favor of the Qatari team.
Qatar’s stars Tyler Harris, Mike Lewis, and Babacar Dieng delivered stellar performances in the game. Both Tyler and Mike scored 17 points each, while Babacar contributed 13 points. With this victory under the leadership of their new Turkish coach, Hakan Demir, Qatar secured their first win in the qualifiers.
Qatar’s next match in the second round of qualifiers will be against Iran next Monday at Al Gharafa Hall in Doha.
