The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has issued a circular declaring tomorrow, Tuesday, November 19, as “Distance Learning Day” for all government schools.
The Ministry stated that this day serves as an opportunity to utilize the extensive technological capabilities provided by e-learning for schools.
In the circular, the Ministry clarified that the Distance Learning Day will be implemented across all 215 government schools on Tuesday, November 19. However, kindergarten classes will continue to be held in person.
Guidelines for Parents of Students
The circular includes specific instructions for parents of students from the first to twelfth grades. Attendance for students will be recorded via live broadcast classes conducted through the Qatar Education System.
Primary school students’ lessons will start at 7:10 AM.
Middle and secondary school students’ lessons will begin at 8:00 AM.
The Ministry urged parents to ensure a calm and conducive learning environment at home and to follow the class schedules provided by the school. It emphasized that students would be marked absent if they miss two classes.
Parents are also advised to ensure that the Qatar Education System and the Microsoft Teams program are available and updated to the latest version on their child’s device. Additionally, they should ensure the availability of the username and password required for system access.
