The Qatar Philatelic & Numismatic Center conducted its annual auction on Friday, featuring over 300 rare stamps and coins for sale.
The auction included 323 items, such as stamps, coins, envelopes, albums, first editions, and commemorative stamp collections.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Center’s Director, Hussein Rajab Al Ismail, noted that this year’s auction stood out due to its diverse collection and the active participation of collectors from Gulf countries. Al Ismail highlighted the strong demand for Qatari stamps and coins during the auction.
He also emphasized the Center’s continued efforts to document Qatar’s philatelic history. As part of this initiative, the Center successfully published its first book detailing the history and unique features of Qatari stamps. Two more books are currently in preparation, as part of a plan to publish five books annually that explore the history, classification, and characteristics of stamps and currencies.
