Qatar’s digital commerce sector is on a fast track of growth. According to a report by Statista, the transaction value in the digital commerce market is expected to reach $7.29 billion (QR26.73 billion) by the end of this year.
The report forecasts a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 21.70% for transaction value from 2024 to 2029, with the total value expected to grow to $19.46 billion by 2029.
During this period, the number of users in Qatar’s digital commerce sector is expected to increase by more than 1.6 million. Market experts note that rapid digital marketing growth over the past decade has activated Qatar’s e-commerce market, bringing significant changes to the industry.
Qatar’s government initiatives and investments have played a key role in helping the digital commerce sector reach a transaction value of QR26 billion.
Globally, China is expected to record the highest transaction value, reaching $3,245 billion by the end of 2023.
